Welsh Cup Round Up

Huws Gray Alliance pacemakers Rhyl made light work of opposition Bodedern to ease into the second round of the Welsh Cup with a 7-0 home triumph.
Rhyl had Liam Benson sent off but that didn’t seem to hinder the hosts as David Forbes and Steve Lewis netted twice, while Paul McManus, Mark Evans and Stefan Halewood also scored.
Runners up last year Cefn Druids also put seven past their opposition as they look to replicate the form that carried them to the final last season.
Mike Burke struck a first half hat-trick and added another after the break as the Ancients defeated Welsh Alliance side Llanberis 7-1. Steve Jones (2) and Warren Duckett were also on target for the hosts.
Holyhead Hotspurs scored six goals as visitors Llantsantffraid Village fought valiantly, netting two of their own, while Ynys Mon outfit Gwalchmai were 4-1 winners at home to Carno, with James Burgess bagging a brace, and Mark Griffiths and Craig Evans also finding the net.
Moving south, Welsh league Division Two pacesetters Goytre moved into the next round with a 3-0 defeat of AFC Llwydcoed with goals coming from Luke Prosser, Kristian Wharton and Kyle Bassett.
Meanwhile, Division One basement boys Tata Steel were made to fight to see off lower league Bridgend Street 7-4. Chris Parfitt bagged a hat-trick and Liam Soroka netted a brace to help the Port Talbot outfit to victory.
Elsewhere, first division leaders Barry Town continued their recent impressive form with a comfortable 5-2 away victory at Caerleon.
Ben Davies scored a brace for the home side but Barry replied through Christian Doidge (2), TJ Nagi, Dale Barnard and an own goal.
Finally, Goytre United put six past Pontyclun, with Richard Ryan and Paul Jones both bagging doubles.
